Mas d'Agamas Baies Choisies - 2021
Vincent Visseq is a talented winegrower who now manages, the Mas d’Agamas vineyards. The Mas D’agamas is a family story, the Visseq family. Their winemaking traditions go back several generations, having spread across the French communes of Lagamas and Montpeyroux. In the vineyards, Mas d’Agamas works in sustainable agriculture. The grapes are always hand harvested which allows Visseq to pick the grapes at the right moment of ripeness and select only the best quality bunches. Having studied winemaking in Australia, he made the decision to make his wines using only stainless steel. This wine is the exception to that rule.
Purple in colour. At first, the nose is dominated by hints of spice and garrigue, before giving way to more pronounced notes of liquorice and black fruits, and then to subtle woody touches. The palate delivers a round taste with silky tannins, while the finish is all about finesse, with mixed ripe fruit and spices.
This wine will make a perfect match to cold or hot meats and mature cheese for tastings. While it is already pleasant at its young age, a few years down in the cellar will all but enhance its taste.
