Château Dassault, 'D' de Dassault, Saint Emilion Grand Cru - 2018
Bought in 1955 by Mr. Serge Dassault (also know for the aviation company under the same family name), the Château was promoted to “Grand Cru Classé” status in 1969. In 2012, the estate concluded a technical and commercial cooperation with Domaines Baron de Rothschild (Lafite Rothschild). This it is the second label of the Château Dassault, a beautiful introduction of this prestigious estate in the Saint Emilion appellation. It is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, aged for 12 to 14 months in (1 year old)oak barrels.
First rich and garnet in colour, this wine shows aromas of baked black fruits, raspberry leaf and red currant. An elegant wine, well balanced, with on the palate notes of coffee, vanilla and dark chocolate. A surprisingly long finish. A very nice, fun wine to be enjoyed even in the first 2-3 years after bottling and yet can age splendidly over 10 years.
